Real people you can see
Every rec is written by a person with a profile you can open. On every page and in your feed, recs from the people you follow come first, so you hear from people you already know before you hear from strangers.
Proof they were there
A rec needs a star rating, a reason of at least 20 characters, and the author's own photos. Photos from a business's listing can't be reused, so a rec shows something the person actually bought or visited.
One rec per person
You can rec a product, service or business once. You can edit it later, but you can't stack more on top. An average rating only appears once there are three recs, so a single five-star rec can't headline a page.
Low ratings stay
Every rating from one to five is allowed. A business can't delete, hide or reorder the recs about it, including the bad ones. It can reply and report a rec, like anyone else.
Nobody rates themselves
A business can't rec itself, its own listings, or a place it has claimed.
Paid is always labelled
Before posting, the author says whether they got the thing free, were paid, earn a commission, or work for the business or are close to its owner. Nothing is chosen for them. Anything other than "no connection" shows a label next to the Rec badge, worded to follow India's ASCI influencer guidelines. Ads are marked as ads and never pass as recs.
No buying recs
There's no way to ask for a rec in the app, and no rewards for writing one.
Telling us when something looks wrong
On launch, the menu on every post, rec and account has a Report option that opens an email to our grievance officer with a link to the item filled in. We're adding reporting inside the app, with a review queue, after that.
Be there when Liminl opens.
